View Full Version : difference between <br> and <br \> in html and Xhtml

Most of the people don't know about the difference that what is the basic difference between the Xhtml and HTML so that they don't know that what is the <br> and <br \> Lets elaborate it.

As we know in XHTML, all elements must be closed. Adding a slash inside the start tag, like <br />, is the proper way of closing empty elements in XHTML (and XML). But in HTML as we know that we can use the <br> so it works for empty elements in HTML.
