PhD Engineering & IT Programme
The Doctoral programme at NUST consists of a minimum of 18 credits of 800/900 level coursework (excluding those transferred from Masters/MPhil) and 30 credits of thesis research.

Electrical Engineering with following specializations:-
Communication and Signal Processing
Control Systems
Solid State Electronics
Microwave Engineering
Telecommunication Engineering
Computer Engineering
Computer Software Engineering
Information Security
Mechanical/Production/Manufacturing Engineering
Environmental Engineering
Information Technology with following specializations:-
Database Technologies
Object Oriented Technologies
Networking Technologies
E-Commerce Technologies
Karachi Campus
Electrical/Electronics Engineering
Mechanical/Production/Manufacturing Engineering
Masters / M Phil qualified candidates from HEC recognized universities may apply for the PhD programme along with their research proposals and supporting academic documents for scrutiny and evaluation in accordance with the PhD policy. The PhD programme is of a minimum of 3 years duration after MS. Selected PhD students may be provided teaching assistantship or research assistantship for sponsored projects during the course of their PhD study. These students may be given stipend of approx Rs. 8,000/- to 15,000/- pm depending upon their performance and the scheme under which covered.
