Eid-Ul-Fitr: SBP Will Issue New Currency Notes From August 18 2011

KARACHI: State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) will issue new currency notes from August 18 for meeting the demand of the public on the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr, Geo News reported.

Central Bank spokesperson, Syed Wasimuddin said that SBP will issue new currency notes amounting to Rs100 billion, which will be available at the 9,000 branches of all the commercial banks across the country. Last year, the Central Bank had issued new notes worth Rs95 billion.

He said that the Central Bank will issue new notes of Rs10, 20, 50, 100, 500, and 1,000 denominations, which the people producing identity card could get it. He further said that the Central Bank has also set up a complaint cell for addressing any sort of people’s complaint relating to the new notes
