Introduction: The Office of Chemistry was founded in 1998. Currently it is working on F.Sc Pre-Medical and Pre-Engineering Applications. Before this the Office was providing some programs at different levels from primary to article scholar level for main damages of AIOU’s common Applications. The Office of Chemistry has relationship with associates of other Schools of Pakistan and Publish Graduate corporations for its Scientific Research courses/Programs. Two laboratories have been founded in Research Prevent for Scientific Sciences to perform practicals of Scientific ideas.
Objectives: After completing this Program, students will acquire the necessary knowledge based in the area of Bio-medical sciences, which is very important to diagnose the infectious diseases as well as epidemics. The overall objective of this program is to Promote education of Applied/Life Sciences in the country. The specific objectives are: 1. To provide human resources/skilled Microbiological technologists for catering the needs of medical laboratories in hospitals and research institutes. 2. To provide foundation for higher studies in Microbiological Sciences. 3. To create awareness about the importance of this science for general public health.
Future Plans: The Department of Biology has launched four years BS Program in Microbiology from the semester Spring 2009. A well equipped Laboratory in research complex building has been established to cater practical and research component of BS programs.
Academic Facilities: A central library in the main campus is available for the students. It has various kinds of books. In addition to this, there is internet facility from which students are being benefited. A well equipped multidisciplinary laboratory has been established for catering practicals needs of F.Sc. students.
