(b)Singular nouns ending in a hissing
sound,e g,s,ch,and es, take es
glass-glasses,watch-watches,box-boxs
(c)Singular nouns ending in y preceded by a
consonant,change y into i and addes:
party-parties,company-companies,libray-libraries
(d)Most of the singular nouns ending in o preceded
by a consonant addes.
tomato-tomatoes,hero,heroes,mosquito-mosquitoes
The following words,however,take only s to become plural.
kilo-kilos,piano-pianos,photo-photos,dynamo-dynams
(e)Most of the singular nouns ending in f and ef change f to
v and addes.
left,leaves;thief-thieves
Some singular nouns ending in f take onley:
roof-roofs;chief-chiefs;belif;beliefs.
