"Average consumption of food in a country is adequate"
is a very disputed statement as it gives a very misleading picture of the country's food availability
One cannot decide or conclude on the basis of this mere statement that everyone is being fed adequately.
first we need to look at what criteria is used as basis for calculating average amount of food being consumed then the portion of the income being spend on the food … therefore we need to establish bands/classes to reach at more realistic figures to conclude weather everyone in the country being fed properly or not. Usually in average calculation we tend to ignore the extreme values, we have in the data and as a result the figures we arrive at are very distorted thus the situation the portray is very misleading
    Idea Solution
    Average of set (1,2,5,90,2) = 20
but in reality only 1 value is high, hence applying average will result in misleading. Extreme Richest and Extreme poorest will be not shown and in result average will be totally misleading.
