ISLAMABAD: The government of Pakistan signed a contract with Haier China for 100,000 laptops under the Prime Ministerís youth scheme.

Plans for setting up a laptop assembly plant in the outskirts of Lahore was also announced to have been approved in principle.
The decision was reached during a meeting between Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Chairperson Prime Ministerís Youth Program, and delegation of Haier Pakistan, comprising Mr. Khalid Afridi COO Haier Pakistan, Mr. Tristan Wong, GM Haier Computers, along with MD PTV.
