Introduction:
It has been 64 years since Pakistan came into being. Many Governments since then came and went away but none of them were able to solve the major social issues in Pakistan. The current Government like others has failed to fulfill its promise to provide food, clothing and shelter to all. Another important issue which has always been given less importance is lack of proper education. Private schools provide quality education but majority of the population is unable to afford their expenses. The Government schools providing education on low costs are simply below standards of quality. Some of the major issues are discussed below:
• Poverty
• Over Population
• Dengue etc.
Poverty:
Poverty has been one of the biggest problems that Pakistan faces today. Nearly 60 per cent of the population of Pakistan lives in villages. According to an analysis, poverty has increased roughly from 30% to 40% during the past decade. It means that 40 per cent of the country’s population is earning their livelihood below the poverty line. In such condition, it is very difficult for the people to live. Proper education and medicine are becoming distant from them. They are forced to think of their survival only of due to poverty and unemployment, parents instead of sending their children to schools, prefer child labor for them. They make them do so to support their family.
Over Population:
At the time of partition, Pakistan had a population of 33 million. Today, our country has crossed the number of 18 crore. At present, Pakistan’s population is growing at the rate of 1.57% yearly. If the current growth rate of Pakistan remained continued, the day is not away when Pakistan would be number 1 in term of population.
Dengue:
Due to the negligence and unawareness, Dengue has become one of the most horrible diseases in Pakistan. People must be taught to carry out special precautions for saving themselves from all such ailments. Special vaccines should be introduced and common man should be educated about them.
Conclusion:
These all are the common major issues of Pakistan and the Government is merely interested in filling their bank accounts instead of trying to solve these problems. They too in this way contribute to the corruption. These are the major social issues of Pakistan that need to be solved.
