    Learning Outcomes:
    Upon completion of this assignment, students will be able to:
    • Understand the application of the concepts of classical and operant
    conditioning in detail
    • Differentiate between classical and operant conditioning
    Dear Students,
    Given below are few case scenarios in which either classical or operant conditioning
    are being operational. Your task is to identify which type of conditioning is
    operational in each scenario. After identification, you are also required to identify
    basic elements of the conditioning type in the scenario and justify your identification
    as well. Furthermore;
    1. Present your data in tabular form.
    2. If you choose operant conditioning for any case, then you just have to write
    the elements of operant conditioning, not those of classical conditioning and
    vice versa.
    3. Do not copy the words of handouts in your justification; otherwise no marks
    will be awarded.
    4. Justification should be written in alignment with the chosen case and its
    happenings.
    Case # 1
    Your father gave you a bicycle at the end of your ninth grade as you stood first
    in your class. As a result, your grades continue to get better in tenth class as
    well.

    Case # 2
    Every time Asif sees the commercial of Pepsi on television, he is fascinated by
    seeing his favorite cricketer Shahid Afridi in the ad because he idolizes Afridi
    and wants to become like him. Whenever he goes to buy soft drinks for guests
    or for himself, he always goes directly to the counter of Pepsi, and not any other
    drink.

    Justification:
    Case # 3
    Sara was listening to radio while driving the car with her younger sister, Amna.
    Amna kept singing along with radio even though her singing voice was
    bothering Sara. Therefore, Sara started turning off the radio every time Amna
    started to sing. This made Amna stop her singing.
    Operant Conditioning Classical Conditioning

    Justification:
    Marking scheme:
    1 mark for identifying the type of conditioning
    1 mark for justification
    3 marks for highlighting the elements of each type of conditioning.

    Note:
    Only in the case of Assignment, 24 hours extra / grace period after the
    due date is usually available to overcome uploading difficulties which
    may be faced by the students on last date. This extra time should only
    be used to meet the emergencies and above mentioned due dates should
    always be treated as final to avoid any inconvenience.
    Important Instructions:

    solution.
    Deadline:
    • Make sure that you upload the solution file before the due date.
    No assignment will be accepted through e-mail once the solution
    has been uploaded by the instructor.
    Formatting guidelines:
    • Use the font style “Times New Roman”/ “Arial” and font size “12”.
    • It is advised to compose your document in MS-Word 2003. • Use black and blue font colors only.
    Solution guidelines:
    • Every student will work individually and has to write in the form of
    an analytical assignment.
    • Give the answer according to question.
    • For acquiring the relevant knowledge don’t rely only on handouts
    but watch the video lectures and use other reference books also.
    Rules for Marking
    Please note that your assignment will not be graded or graded as Zero (0) if:
    • It has been submitted after due date
    • The file you uploaded does not open or is corrupt
    • It is in any format other than doc (MS. Word)
    • It is cheated or copied from other students, internet, books,
    journals etc…

    Justification: I was aware of the fact that I will be rewarded every time I get good grades hence I continued to do better in the future,


    This is just the case #1 em not sure about this other two, working on them. Hope this is correct?
