Question 1: [Marks = 10]



Write a C language program that access the parallel port through BIOS functions and perform following tasks:



If printer is not online for printing, print a message on screen that

“Printer is not Ready for printing.”



If printer is ready and online but busy in printing some job then print a message on screen that

“Printer is Busy.”



If printer is ready and free to assign print job but out of paper then print a message on screen that

“Printer is Out of Paper.”



If printer is ready to assign print job and have paper in tray too then print a message on screen that

“Printer is Free to Use.”



Hint: Use Direct Parallel programming ports registers to have printer status (Base+1)





Question 2: [Marks = 10]



Write a C++ program that generates a tune with 5 different pitches, gradually altered from low to high. A delay of half second should be there between each pitch of tune. Program should terminate whenever key ‘S’ is pressed from keyboard.
