Call for Item Writers

PEC is a statutory autonomous body of the Government of Punjab, School Education Department, mandated with the task of design and conduct of exams and assessment at elementary level. PEC intends to develop a test item bank based on national curriculum which will be used for test construction and other types of assessments.
Subject wise applications are invited from experts in the relevant field who have the experience of designing test items. Interested individuals should meet the following minimum eligibility criteria;
B.A/B.Sc. with major subjects; Mathematics, Urdu, English, Science (Biology, Physics, Chemistry), Islamiat, Ethics, Geography, Political Science, History; Preference would be given to those possessing master degree in relevant subject.
Minimum 3 years teaching experience (Public/Private).
The services of selected item writers will be used in the following manner;
1. Selected item writers will be required to attend a 3 to 5 days item writing training workshop at PEC in Lahore where they will receive instruction and training in basic principles and methodology of assessment and item writing. The training is likely to be conducted in July, 2015.
2. Those Item writers who would be successfully shortlisted after training sessions would be required to develop items at PEC or at their own work places. They would be compensated for their services in the following manner;
a. Those attending the item writing/training workshop would be compensated at the rate of 2000 rupees per day. Those coming from outside the city will also be given DA @ Rs. 2500 per day and TA @ Rs. 10 per km.
b. Item writers will be paid for each item @ Rs. 100 to 600 according to the taxonomical level and quality of items which will be decided after item review and piloting at PEC. Payment will be made on completion of assigned task in two installments.
c. Every item writer will have to submit prescribed minimum number of items against pre- assigned areas of content/ SLOs and taxonomical levels.
d. After completion of training, selected persons will be included in item writer’s pool of PEC and may be called for item writing at PEC when required.
Subject wise applications along with detailed CVs (format of CV is available on PEC websitewww.pec.edu.pk) and relevant antecedents should reach in Punjab Examination Commission (PEC), near Government Pilot Boys Secondary School, Wahdat Colony Road, Lahore within 15 days after this publication. Those who are already registered with PEC need not to apply.
