Viasat (formerly Exede) and HughesNet are the only residential satellite internet service providers available to the US. Both provide nationwide service, so you can choose between the two wherever you live. However, it is not for everyone. It is best suited to residents of rural or suburban areas where there aren't many options for cable or fiber optic internet.
