Pictures has confirmed that it has contacted the FBI over the recent LulzSec hacking operation.
Two of the corporation's websites, Sony Pictures Entertainment and Sony BMG, were targeted by the group this week, resulting in the personal information of over one million users being compromised.

Sony Pictures chairman and CEO Michael Lynton confirmed in a joint statement with co-chairman Amy Pascal: "The cybercrime wave that has affected Sony companies and a number of government agencies, businesses and individuals in recent months has hit Sony Pictures as well,
"[Thursday] afternoon a group of criminal hackers known as 'LulzSec' claimed to have breached some of our websites. We have confirmed that a breach has occurred and have taken action to protect against further intrusion. We also retained a respected team of experts to conduct the forensic analysis of the attack, which is ongoing.
"In addition, we have contacted the US Federal Bureau of Investigation and are working with them to assist in the identification and apprehension of those responsible for this crime. We deeply regret and apologise for any inconvenience caused to consumers by this cybercrime."
In addition to exposing customer information, LulzSec also claimed to have compromised Sony Pictures admin details, 75,000 'music codes' and 3.5m 'music coupons'.
LulzSec has since warned of more attacks, writing on their Twitter account: "This is a new cyber world and we're starting it together. There will be bigger targets, there will be more ownage."
